Applying fused multispectral and panchromatic data of Landsat
نویسنده
چکیده
The article presents results of object oriented classification of Landsat ETM+ satellite image using fused multispectral and panchromatic data. Channels 2, 3 and 4 of the ETM+ image have been fused by applying PanSharp automatic algorithm (PCI Geomatica software) which preserves spectral characteristics of multispectral channels. Object oriented classification has been performed using eCognition software. On the basis of original and fused data, the rules of segmentation have been specified. Next, identification of land use and land cover classes has been tested. Mean values, standard deviations, ratio parameters of the objects, as well as Haralick texture functions have been analysed. Using membership functions and Standard Nearest Neighbor classification, 18 land use classes has been defined and classified. Panchromatic channel has been used for the purposes of recognition of built-up areas, as well as for extraction of the mixed forest class from broad-leaved and coniferous forest. Performed work has demonstrated that fused multispectral and panchromatic data do not have significant influence on the improvement of land use classes separation during classification process, but they are useful for satellite image segmentation process.

Fusion of Panchromatic and Multispectral Images Using Non Subsampled Contourlet Transform and FFT Based Spectral Histogram (RESEARCH NOTE)
Image fusion is a method for obtaining a highly informative image by merging the relative information of an object obtained from two or more image sources of the same scene. The satellite cameras give a single band panchromatic (PAN) image with high spatial information and multispectral (MS) image with more spectral information. The problem exists today is either PAN or MS image is available fr...
متن کاملFusion of Multispectral and Panchromatic Satellite Images in Environmental Issues
Image fusion of multispectral and panchromatic satellite image is used to combine spatial detail of the panchromatic image of high spatial resolution and spectral information of multispectral image of low resolution, in order to create a synthetic multispectral high-resolution image. This process is called pansharpening and the resulting image, has among others, improved visual quality and visu...
متن کاملVolumetric Super-Resolution of Multispectral Data
Most multispectral remote sensors (e.g. QuickBird, IKONOS, and Landsat 7 ETM+) provide low-spatial high-spectral resolution multispectral (MS) or high-spatial low-spectral resolution panchromatic (PAN) images, separately. In order to reconstruct a high-spatial/high-spectral resolution multispectral image volume, either the information in MS and PAN images are fused (i.e. pansharpening) or super...
متن کاملFusion and Merging of Multispectral Images using Multiscale Fundamental Forms
In this paper, a new multispectral image wavelet representation is introduced, based on multiscale fundamental forms. This representation describes gradient information of multispectral images in a multiresolution framework. The representation is in particular extremely suited for the fusion and merging of multispectral images. For fusion as well as for merging, a strategy is described. Experim...
